Beyond Addiction Immersion Retreat

Beth Sanderson and Lorraine Bowe (O’Mullane) are delighted to host a nine-day Beyond Addiction immersion retreat with Dr. Sat Dharam Kaur ND at Hawthbush Farm, Sussex—her first in-person Beyond Addiction retreat in the UK. This all-inclusive experience is a rare opportunity to deepen your understanding of yourself, what underlies all addictive behaviours and how to move beyond these.

What is the retreat offering and who is it for?

Beyond Addiction is a program designed for individuals seeking to develop healthy habits and overcome addictive behaviour.  For health professionals, yoga teachers, CI practitioners and clients, therapists and anyone who works with addiction, this is a unique opportunity to bring a new understanding and awareness to a complex issue.  For certified Kundalini Yoga teachers who would like to teach a yoga-based addiction recovery program, this is your first step towards this. Beyond Addiction programs have been offered since 2008, beginning in Owen Sound and Toronto, Ontario. Following this program's incredible success, they are now taught internationally. Bringing the Beyond Addiction program to the UK will offer participants an alternative to the limited provisions available for those struggling with addiction.

What will participants receive and why is it so important?

The course comprises a 16-session recovery program which includes Kundalini Yoga, breathing techniques, meditation, relaxation, self-reflection, lifestyle and dietary guidelines, stress management, hydrotherapy, naturopathic detoxification and nutritional and herbal supplementation for neurotransmitter and glandular balance.

  • A nine-day in-person immersion

  • A 4-month home practice program with online yoga videos

  • Over 90 teaching clips from Dr. Gabor Maté

  • A 500 page manual and weekly group support

In each module, there are:

  1. Written materials to read and absorb – the manual totals over 500 pages

  2. Yogic guidelines for recovery

  3. Dr. Gabor Maté video clips

  4. A pranayam (breathing exercise), kriya (yoga set), and meditation taught by Sat Dharam Kaur ND

  5. A detoxification and rejuvenation guide for the colon, kidneys, liver, lymph, glandular system and to balance brain neurotransmitters

  6. A weekly home practice program
